Humacchuco . . .

This turned out to be a blend of indigenous knowledge and the use of high technology mapping/graphic design tools to produce a flyer to help promote ecotourism in the village of Humacchucho that sits beneath Huascaran (the highest tropical peak in the world). This was the first contract completed under Nawi Mapas within a larger project organized by the Mountain Institute. Without the help of the community of Humacchuco, particularly Armando Tito, Victor Cautivo, and 'el Chino' (amongst others), and the direction coming from Miriam Torres and Roberto Arevalo from the Mountain Institute, this project would not have taken place.

The entire project is now completed and the village of Humacchuco welcomes individual tourists and large groups for a sharing experience that neither the community or the visitors forget. To this day the project grows and receives yearly school groups from Crooked Trails (run by Tammy Leland of Seattle WA) and individual tourists. If you want more information please contact us.

The inside of the flyer - two pages. Note the exquisitley hand drawn maps (mostly the work of Victor and 'el Chino').
