 Centro Desarrollo Huayhuash . . .The Centro Desarrollo Huayhuash is a grass roots non-profit organization based in Huaraz, Peru. Nawi Mapas is acting as an advisor to the project (lots of fund raising efforts) and has created a few maps for use within the organization. There is hope that the Centro Desarrollo Huayhuash will undertake a community mapping project much like that for the Maya Atlas project. In any case the Centro is part of a growing regional leadership that has taken interest in conservation efforts in the area. To this date there has been much organizational work and we are looking to start the community mapping project in the fall of 2005 or the spring of 2006.
